All-remote workspace update: Razer Leviathan V2 X soundbar and travel equipment (Peak Design Tech Pouch)
2026 experience update for my all-remote workspace: Soundbar improvements, and travel equipment efficiency. And an updated picture with new Easter eggs in my Zoom background.
Sound ... bar
A headset for remote calls has been my go-to for many years. I also listen to music while working, writing code, developing demo use cases, and pushing my brain. Especially in summer, the Bose ear cushions led to sweating.
Originally, I planned to use the Logitech Z407 boxes more often as additional audio output. Still, the Bluetooth connection remained unstable, and the bass-heavy sound was impractical for my remote calls.
After purchasing a soundbar for my TV a while ago, it got me thinking - what if a soundbar could work for an ultra-wide monitor, too? Funnily enough, the Gaming community already thought of that, and I found a good variety of offers. I started my research with a focus on USB-C-powered, Bluetooth-optional devices, less focus on bass/surround sound.
The Razer Leviathan V2 X soundbar initially caught my attention for its easy and intuitive setup, and slim form factor - space on my desk is limited. I also liked the color scheme and the 100 USD price. The more advanced model, the Razer Leviathan V2, comes with a subwoofer and THX surround sound, but at 249 USD, it's a bit steep.
The Creative Sound Blaster GS3 also sounded interesting, but the unintuitive controls threw me off a bit (review on YouTube). The Razer has 5 simple buttons on top, easy to reach, and for more complex settings, it uses an external app. In this case, I was also looking for "keep it simple, stupid" - no extra audio ports, no fancy additional thingy, just solve one thing - audio output.
Most soundbar reviews center on gaming, which made the decision a little harder, so I went with an experimental buy, trusting my instincts. A local retailer offered the Razer Leviathan V2 X soundbar at 20% off, priced at 85 EUR ... After 4 months, I feel very comfortable using the Razer Leviathan V2 X soundbar for everything and can honestly recommend it for a remote office workspace.

Pros ✅
- Crisp sound quality, for remote calls and listening to music.
- Easy and extensible setup:
- Small, fits perfectly underneath the 49" monitor without taking too much space.
- Works well with USB-C powered through the Caldigit TS4 Docking Station.
- Optional Bluetooth 5 for additional devices (Windows, mobile apps)
- No more headsets with Bluetooth delays, and sweat in summer.
- Relatively cheap (~99USD), comparable to other sound boxes/bars.
Unexpected long-term result: Random color changes are calming my busy brain.
Cons ❌
- Color schemas can only be controlled through a mobile app.
- I personally don't need to configure that.
- If the colors change following the audio rhythm, this can feel distracting in calls. Workaround: Don't look down and focus on the Zoom call presenter.

Travel ... worry-less
"Did I pack my power adapters, chargers, ... " was often in my head as I entered the train station traveling to DevRel events since 2022. I used to (un)pack the chargers in my flat, and pack them when needed for travel. In 2025, I decided to optimize this setup into a dedicated travel equipment – all packed and ready, it never really leaves the backpack unless necessary.
"Which storage/pouch fits all my stuff?" Thankfully, folks on LinkedIn, YouTube and Reddit openly discussed their favorites in pictures and video. After some unsatisfying evaluations, including the UGREEN Electronics Bag Travel Organiser, I decided to focus on innovative design and space, with less focus on price.
I came across and kept... Peak Design: Tech Pouch, color: Sage, size: Regular since January 2025, travelled to 10+ events in DACH, UK, US.

Pros ✅
- Ample storage in a small package that fits in hand luggage.
- Easy, fast pulling out at airport security or on the plane/train.
- Nearly endless options to "play Tetris" and organize cables, adapters, chargers, dongles in the Accordion design.
- Quality and lasting materials.
Cons ❌
- Does not fit larger items, like an iPhone 15 Pro Max or other mobile.
- I personally have my mobile with me all the time for security reasons, so I don't need that option.

Easter ... eggs
I've updated all items in the all-remote workspace inventory (audio output and travel), and took new pictures in January 2026, too. Can you spot all the easter eggs? ;-)
